Position Description:
The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for design, implementation, and support of a highly available Enterprise network. High Level Job responsibilities include a mix of project work as well as global network systems support. He is expected interface between various functional teams and provide technical leadership as it relates to network design, implementation, and support of complex network services.
Primary Roles and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other technical resources to design, implement, and maintain network systems.
- Analyze business requirements to help recommend and develop technical solutions
- Design, Implement, and maintains secure wired and wireless network systems
- Work with others to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues
- Participate in technical evaluation process and provide formal presentations to management
- Develop test plans, implementation tasks, and project timelines in support of various projects
- Engage with hardware and software vendors to support and develop relevant solutions
- Create and maintain technical documentation related to new and existing technical solutions
- After-hours operational support as needed
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation as needed
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Experience with Cisco network and security platforms
- Experience with Aruba wireless solutions
- Experience with Infoblox DNS or other IPAM solutions is preferable
- Experience configuring QoS and WAN acceleration technologies
- Experience working with F5 or other load balancer platforms
- Experience with packet captures and other network analysis tools
- Experience with VoIP and SIP communications a plus
- Knowledge of routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP
- Knowledge of IPv4 and familiarity with IPv6 protocols
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Qualifications:
- BS or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field
- 5+ years as a network administrator or architect supporting large enterprise networks
- CCIE or similar certification preferred
