Lead Business Systems Analyst

LOCATIONS:

The Lead Business Systems analyst is responsible for eliciting, capturing, communicating, and validating business requirements across various areas of BMC.  This role is expected to provide facilitation, elicitation and leadership skills for all business stakeholder processes to continuously improve and enhance applications. Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration to be displayed developing and leading workshops, meetings and executive presentations.

The selected candidate must possess an understanding of the overall relationship between the business and IT and could include additional knowledge, but not exclusive to the following such as system integration initiatives, testing, lead system selection processes, user development and training, data conversion support and local system rollouts.

Must have experience of current industry software within a technology and command of in-depth terminology. Strong knowledge of Agile applied methodologies and best practices to perform problem solving, planning, and analysis is required. Familiarity with business architecture, system and data modeling and change management strategy. Must be results oriented with prioritization to deliver high quality outcomes within a fast deadline oriented environment.

An understanding of team dynamics and dealing effectively with conflict resolution is required. The candidate must have the ability to apply collaborative problem solving techniques.

Job Duties

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate as-is and to-be states for software business enterprise
  • Develop business models, process models, and key performance indicators that align to key business and technology drivers such as business mission, challenges, opportunities, goals, and objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Desired experience with following technologies: Oracle eBusiness, Apttus, SalesForce.com, Callidus, concur, taleo, SharePoint / One Drive, / Office 365, integration (webmethods, SOA), business intelligence, data warehouses, cloud, SSO, mobile, web content management systems, etc.
  • Ability to work and team with a multitude of different people – including Business customers, IT project managers, IT engineers, and vendors
  • Self-starter attitude, working independently under limited guidance
  • Good negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to moderate differing expectations.
  • Provide insight on all Enterprise Architecture domains (business, information, application and technology) and how they connect.
  • Advise business of enabling technology that can improve business processes.

Required Qualifications

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Computer Science
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into EA requirements, and estimate the financial and architectural impact of EA alternatives
  • Interpersonal Skills
  • Comfortable in constantly changing environments, implementing changes without interrupting the flow of business.
  • Possess the ability to look at problems from the proverbial “50,000 feet” and drill progressively down to the granular details. 
  • Able to discern the cross-organizational impacts of actions (or inaction)
  • Able to quickly build strategic relationships with a great variety of people.
  • Possesses excellent communication, facilitation and summarization skills
  • Display strong political acumen and emotional intelligence, remain cool in a crisis and manage negotiations toward practical solutions.
  • Good analytical skills, knowledge of business process and capability design and team player.
  • Strong relationship building skills and executive presence.
  • Articulate business drivers and operational requirements for strategic initiatives.
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change.

Technical Knowledge

  • Knowledge of industry standard Enterprise Architecture Frameworks, (e.g. TOGAF, Zachman, DODAF), nice to have.
