Lead Accountant - China

LOCATIONS:

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for managing China GAAP accounting functions including local audit and tax. He/she is also in-charge of payroll function and provides business operation support to the China operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Finance / Accounting

  • Collaborate with Singapore Finance Shared Services on monthly accounting matters including cash forecast, payroll journals, month-end close etc.
  • Prepare various monthly tax reports for submission (VAT, CIT etc.)
  • Prepare local PRC accounts and audit schedules for annual statutory audit purposes
  • Work with local auditors and tax agent on annual statutory reports and filings
  • Work with tax agent to ensure compliance with Advance Pricing Agreement (APA) requirements
  • Liaise with local accounting firm to prepare monthly and annual financial statements for local statutory accounts
  • Liaise with Accounts Payable on payment and banking matters
  • Provide inputs and updates to Financial Controller during budget cycle
  • Liaise with banks, local tax bureaus and authorities on compliance matters, attending to queries etc.

Payroll

  • Liaise with payroll provider to process monthly payroll cycle; ensure that China employees are paid on time and accurately
  • Work with Human Resources on payroll related matters
  • Attend to employee’s queries on payroll related matters

Business / Sales Operations

  • Support business and sales operations on execution of order documents, agreements, customer documents; issuance of VAT invoices; follow-up on customer receipts; liaise with sales and order services on such matters
  • Communicate with external customers on tax invoices, payments etc.
  • Support procurement activities for Finance and office administration functions
EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

Qualifications and Experience

  • Professional qualification in Finance, Accounting or Business (diploma holder, degree, CPA, ACCA)
  • Minimum 8-10 years financial accounting experience in medium to large corporation (MNC preferred)
  • Good knowledge of US GAAP, corporate / statutory tax
  • Computer literacy – Windows applications, Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Knowledge of Oracle; other Financial applications like Essbase, Hyperion

  • Good understanding of financial principles and accounting/budgeting practice
  • Effective communications skills (both written and oral)
  • Self-motivated, assertive, ambitious and high energy
  • Ability to communicate and liaise with personnel at various levels throughout the organization and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Meticulous with strong organizational and collaborative skills, result orientated
  • Independent & proactive, work with own initiative and minimal supervision
